As Christians we seek ways to actively express our faith in daily life and to make our commitment to Christ evident in today's world through love and service to those in need. FUMC has an endless number of ways to express your faith through service including the following volunteer opportunities:
- Sunday School or Youth Teacher/Helper: weekly or monthly commitment
- Drop-In Center Tutor/Helper: after school tutoring for junior and senior high school students
- Boy Scout Troop: Thursday night meetings
- Community outreach: service to the local community
- Living Nativity: silent re-enactment during December
- Adornment: decorating church for Christmas
- Caring Ministries: encouragement and fellowship to home members
- Work Teams: Arson Rebuild projects, disaster relief/construction projects and other opportunities
- Ushers, Greeters, Liturgists: once a month during Sunday service
- Baking cookies, casseroles, etc. for home members
- Office help: whenever additional assistance is needed
- Committee members: join any number of FUMC Committees
- UMW missions work including Transition House and Iris Cottage at Cottage Hospital
- Driving members to Church: providing transportation to those unable to drive
- Assist Pastor Alan in providing communion to home members
- Health Ministries: assist in various activities such as blood pressure screenings, disaster preparedness, blood drives, etc.
- Write an article for the Carillon updating the congregation on your committee or group's activities
